Fascia
The board on the rafter feet. We replace rotten timber rather than cap over mush. White, black or anthracite.
Soffit
Vented where the roof needs to breathe. A sealed soffit on an old roof is how you grow mushrooms in the loft.
Gutters & downpipes
Square or half-round, with enough outlets for a Manchester cloudburst. Falls checked, not guessed.
Dry verge
No more mortar dropping into the gutter every winter. A mechanical verge that stays put.
Cladding
Boards where the gable or the dormer cheeks are tired. Specified with the fascia so it reads as one job.
Full replacement
If the timber is gone, capping it is a waste of your money. We’ll say so on the survey.
